BASRA - Gas from the Majnoon oil field in Basra is now contributing fuel to Iraq’s power grid, reducing the amount that is wastefully burned from flares.

On Tuesday, 70 million standard cubic feet per day (scf/d) of associated gas started flowing from Majnoon to processing facilities in Basra, generating 300 megawatts of power, according to an Oil Ministry statement.
