Iraq pursues Basra refinery upgrade
Project would improve the quality and quantity of output from Shuaiba refinery, reducing the financial strain of fuel imports.

BASRA - Iraq's Cabinet has given approval to activate a Japanese loan offer that will fund an upgrade to the Shuaiba refinery in Basra.
The new plans promise to improve the efficiency of the refinery, increasing the amount of usable fuel that can be gained from a barrel of crude and raising the quality of products.
