Kurdish forces investigate nascent IS cells
After two battles with IS fighters near Chemchemal, security forces are racing to root out militants setting up insurgent cells within KRG-controlled territory.

SULAIMANIYA - Two cells of fighters loyal to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) are operating within territory nominally controlled by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) - the latest sign that the militant group is embracing the tactics of a guerrilla insurgency, even as it suffers losses on the battlefield.
"Daesh is trying to send its Kurdish militants back into Kurdistan to destabilize the region," said an officer in the KRG's Asayesh intelligence service.
