September exports flat as Baghdad loses oil to KRG sales

Iraq exports remained steady due to strong southern output, offsetting losses in the north, where Kurdistan has appropriated all federal production into independent sales.

Exports by Iraq's federal government dipped slightly in September, despite an increase from southern Iraq, as more federal crude in the north was used by the autonomous Kurdistan region for its own growing independent oil sales.

The Oil Ministry reported selling 3.052 million barrels per day (bpd) in September – a slight decrease from the 3.079 million bpd sold in August, 3.105 million bpd in July, and 3.187 million bpd in June.
