The Iraqi Air Force received three C-130J transport aircraft during a delivery ceremony in Baghdad on December 17, 2012. An additional three C-130J aircraft are scheduled for delivery in the near future, including support equipment and training. The C-130J uses state-of-the-art technology, allowing it to fly farther, climb faster, and take off and land in a shorter distance than earlier versions.
This program reinforces the U.S.-Iraqi partnership, as outlined by the Strategic Framework Agreement.
