Ahdab oil field raided by gunmen

Assailants breached security, detained guards and staff, and stole money and equipment in an attack blamed on gang-style robbery rather than terrorism.

KUT - Gunmen raided the Ahdab oil field in Wasit province late Oct. 31 or early Nov. 1, assaulting both Iraqi and Chinese employees and stealing and money and computers.

The attack is being investigated as a gang-style robbery, not a terrorist attack, according to numerous sources within the provincial security forces and oil sector.
