Iraqi security forces have broken a prolonged siege by the Islamic State (IS) militant group on the strategically important town of al-Baghdadi, in Anbar province.
The attack on al-Baghdadi has highlighted the limited capacity of security forces in the area, even though the town is just seven kilometers from the Ain al-Assad air base, where the U.S. military is training thousands of pro-government fighters.
