Baghdad, KRG leaders reaffirm legal disputes over oil

Political leaders on both sides indicate their court battle is still on, but the proceedings are delayed, pending a revised pleading from the prime minister.

BAGHDAD - Iraq's highest court again postponed making a ruling in a landmark oil case, as the prime minister's office asked for more time to formulate a revised pleading.

The case has the potential to help define the extent to which the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) can legally manage its oil sector independently of the federal government, but the proceedings have moved slowly.
