Basra Oil Company warns service companies against layoffs
Memo alleges heavy-handed dismissals of local labor risk relationship with BOC.

BASRA - The state-run Basra Oil Company (BOC) has warned all its subcontractors and subcontractors commissioned by foreign oil companies to significantly limit their layoffs of local workers as the oil price crash devastates the global oil industry.
In a memo Monday, BOC Director General Ihsan Ismaael said there have been "many complaints" from Iraqi staff who have been "discharged and forced to resign."
