SULAIMANIYA - An armed drone struck the Khor Mor gas facility in Sulaimaniya province late Thursday, causing a fire at a storage tank and temporarily forcing the field to stop production of gas that fuels most of the Kurdistan region’s electricity supply and parts of federal Iraq.
The field resumed production on Friday after a fire was extinguished, and there were no casualties from the attack, according to statements by the UAE’s Dana Gas, which operates the field along with sister company Crescent Petroleum as leaders of the Pearl Consortium.
