NASSIRIYA - The 860 million barrel Garraf oil field will not begin producing its first oil in July, missing the deadline by at least a month.
"Production will start at the end of August," said Yassir Karim, the director of the Dhi Qar Oilfields Authority, a division of the state-run South Oil Company (SOC), which is officially responsible for the field. "There were some very simple technical obstacles that were all resolved."
