Iraq signs 5-plus and 6th round contracts

Iraq signed 13 contracts that were awarded in the Oil Ministry’s “five-plus” and sixth licensing rounds, finalizing deals that highlight the growing prominence of China in the country’s oil and gas sector.
Speaking at the Oct. 27 signing ceremony in Baghdad, Oil Minister Hayyan Abdulghani said the projects could eventually add up to 850 million standard cubic feet per day (scf/d) of natural gas production and 750,000 barrels per day of crude production.
