Ismaael removed as head of Basra Oil Company

BASRA - Iraq's Council of Ministers has ordered the removal of Ihsan Ismaael, the acting director general of the state-run Basra Oil Company (BOC), along with five other senior oil officials.
Ismaael has led BOC since September 2017, overseeing the majority of the country's oil production and serving as a key interlocutor for international oil companies (IOCs) managing its biggest fields.
