Khor Mor resuming production after deadly attack

SULAIMANIYA/CHAMCHAMAL - The Khor Mor gas field is set to begin coming back online four days after a drone attack killed four people and injured eight.

The resumption of production promises to alleviate severe electricity disruptions caused by Friday’s attack and appears to reflect significant steps by the Iraqi government to enhance security at the field.

"Based upon concrete actions which have been taken by the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government to significantly strengthen defences at the Khor Mor site as well as firm commitments from the highest levels of those authorities, Dana Gas and its partners have taken steps to recommence production from the Khor Mor field," said a statement issued late Tuesday by the Sharjah-based DanaGas, a leading member of the Pearl Consortium that operates Khor Mor.
