Kurdistan launches mining sector
KRG’s Ministry of Natural Resources calls for expressions of interest in seven prospective mineral exploration licenses.

ERBIL - The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has asked for expressions of interest in its first ever mining licenses, seeking billions of dollars of new investment as it grapples with a dire financial crisis exacerbated by low oil prices.
"All seven blocks are believed to hold sufficient mineral deposits for the purposes of commercial extraction," the government’s Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) said in a statement Wednesday.
