Mosul offensive imminent
Iraqi forces are in final position to begin their assault on IS militants in Mosul, awaiting only an official order from Prime Minister Abadi, which many officers expect early Sunday.

ERBIL - Iraqi armed forces are poised for a climactic assault on Mosul that could begin as early as Sunday morning.
"All the units and formations of the Iraqi security forces and other support forces are in position," said Brig. Gen. Yahya Rasool, an Iraqi Army spokesperson for the Joint Military Command. "All the preparations for the battle of Mosul are ready."
