Oil workers kidnapped in Basra
Kidnappers disguised as police have abducted four employees of a Greek pipeline construction firm at a fake checkpoint near Rumaila oil field.

BAGHDAD - Four employees of Athens-based Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) are still missing, four days after being kidnapped in Basra.
"They were stopped by a fake military checkpoint," said Ali al-Maliki, the head of the security and defense committee in the Basra Provincial Council, "and have been taken to an unknown location."
