Parliament votes to oust KAR from Kirkuk

BAGHDAD - Iraq's Parliament issued a non-binding directive Monday to prevent the Kurdish company KAR Group from continuing any work in Kirkuk oil fields.

The measure does not legally require the government to take any action, but it passed with broad support, indicating a political climate in Baghdad that remains hostile to the prospect of reconciliation with the autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
