NASSIRIYA - Iraqi oil workers shut down the Nassiriya oil field in southern Dhi Qar province around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, two hours after instructions were issued, following threats to do so during a week of intense protest.
The Nassiriya field, operated by the state-run Dhi Qar Oil Company (DQOC), is a fraction of the country's crude that has been taken offline in recent days, following the activation of a maintenance plan at the West Qurna 2 oil field.
