Q&A: Hussein Abdul-Kadhim Hussein, director of the Rumaila Operating Organization

BASRA - In the past 10 years, the Rumaila oil field has increased production by 40 percent and solidified its position as Iraq's most prolific asset, accounting for more than one-third of the country's production.

Despite its size, it faces similar obstacles as most other projects – development plans that swing on the price of oil, and a continuous need to invest, just to maintain output levels.
