ERBIL - Over a week since the Iraqi government barred international flights into the autonomous Kurdistan region, airports are under financial pressure to close even for domestic travel.
In an Oct. 5 statement, Erbil International Airport (EIA) Director General Talar Faiq raised concerns about the loss of income and $33 million in outstanding payments due from Iraqi Airways, the country's only domestic carrier.
