Lukoil is planning to take West Qurna 2, one of the world's biggest undeveloped oil fields, and transform it into one of Iraq's largest producers in a year.
The Russian oil giant is also interested in expanding in Iraq. It has already started talks to conduct exploration with Iraq's Oil Exploration Company and Russian firm Zarubezhneft, and it is keeping a close eye on the terms that the Oil Ministry will offer to develop the Nassiriya oil field and refinery project.
