Rumaila produces one-third of Iraq's oil, and it's poised to grow — if it can get enough water and related infrastructure approved and in place.

RUMAILA - As Iraq's largest oil field gears up to increase production even further, the Rumaila Operating Organization (ROO) is thirsty for water.

In order to maintain pressure in mature reservoirs, and to optimize production from new reservoirs, the project will need millions of barrels per day of water - in addition to a vast array of other supporting infrastructure.
