Smugglers target Basra’s floating power stations
Investigators have uncovered a $5 million-per-month smuggling operation that has trafficked Oil Ministry fuel into the Kurdistan region.

BAGHDAD - Smugglers at a floating power station in Basra have been stealing $5 million worth of fuel each month and trucking it into the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, according to the inspector general of the Electricity Ministry.
Investigators have not determined where it has gone after that, and have not accused any government officials of involvement.
