Top Basra officials implicated in electricity corruption
Basra's governor and head of the provincial council are both being investigated for corruption in an electricity supply deal.

BASRA - Basra Gov. Majid al-Nasrawi and Provincial Council Chairman Sabah al-Bazouni are both being investigated for possible corruption over a deal to increase electricity service.
The two men are members of rival parties that jointly control the province, and they have traded accusations of wrong-doing. It remains unclear whether one - or both - might be guilty.
