SULAIMANIYA/ERBIL - Turkish jets bombed several positions on and around Iraq's Sinjar Mountain overnight Tuesday, killing at least six members of the Kurdistan Regional Government's (KRG) security forces.
The Turkish military said it was targeting an affiliate of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has waged a decades-long guerrilla war against the Turkish state, although no PKK-backed fighters appear to have been killed in the Sinjar strikes.
