The U.S. government has granted Iraq another sanctions waiver to allow for essential energy imports from Iran, according to two officials familiar with the matter, but the latest extension is the shortest yet – just 30 days.

Iraq's last waiver was granted in mid-February, shortly after relations between Baghdad and Washington had been badly strained amidst military conflict between the U.S. and Iran. That 45-day waiver was set to expire on March 27.
